Offices are open Monday through Friday in San Diego, San Marcos, Santee, and Chula Vista. There's also a Saturday appointment available once a month at the San Diego office on Kearny Mesa Boulevard. You'll receive a confirmation number upon making your appointment.
When booking your appointment online, you can conveniently pay for your marriage license using a debit or credit card. If you prefer an in-person appointment, payment methods accepted include debit card, credit card, cash, or money order. The cost of a marriage license is around $130 depending on the county.
Hold onto your confirmation number: Keep your confirmation number safe in case you need to reschedule your appointment or have any questions for the County Clerk.
Remember, after making your appointment, you'll need to decide whether you want a confidential or non-confidential marriage license. A confidential license is considered a private record, available only to the couple. Certified copies of a confidential license are exclusive to the couple.
